The ProX MB-36 is a 36-inch mirror disco ball designed for arena-scale productions, large concert venues, festival main stages, and signature nightclub installations where the mirror ball itself becomes a visual centerpiece. At 36 inches across, this is a true large-format mirror ball built for visibility and impact in the biggest rooms.
The MB-36 is constructed around a high-density Polystyrene foam (EPS) core specifically engineered for large-format mirror ball applications. EPS is the professional industry standard for serious mirror ball manufacturing thanks to its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, closed-cell rigidity, and long-term dimensional stability. The foam will not warp under heat, will not absorb humidity, and maintains an accurate spherical profile across years of demanding touring and venue use, which is essential at this size for smooth, balanced rotation on a motor.
The full exterior is finished with precision-cut high-grade glass mirror tiles measuring 20mm (3/4"), scaled to match the larger format of the ball and to deliver bigger, more dramatic individual reflections that read clearly across large venues. Each tile features a premium silvered backing for maximum reflectivity, true color clarity, and crisp beam definition, produced to consistent thickness with clean square edges for tight uniform placement across the sphere. The mirror coating is sealed against tarnishing to hold its bright finish through years of professional touring. Each tile is bonded individually with a premium high-strength industrial adhesive engineered to hold tiles securely through continuous rotation, transport vibration, and the rigors of professional touring environments. The denser ProX tile pattern produces a more saturated, brilliant field of reflected light and color than traditional mirror balls of this size.
Inside the ball, a steel reinforcement rod runs the full vertical axis from top to bottom, anchored at each end by a heavy-duty removable O-ring and secured by an M10 nut for maximum mounting integrity. This internal steel structure is critical at large diameters, providing the strong mechanical mounting points required for safe overhead rigging and reliable motor connection during long performance runs. The MB-36 is compatible with the ProX X-MBM-3 (1 RPM) mirror ball motor (sold separately), rated for 30" through 48" balls.
