The ProX MB-16 is a 16-inch mirror disco ball designed for clubs, lounges, mid-size event venues, mobile DJ rigs that need a stronger visual statement, and any production where the room demands more sparkle and longer beam throws than the smaller sizes can deliver. The MB-16 is a workhorse size, big enough to take command of a dance floor while still being practical to rig, transport, and store.
At the core of every ball is a high-density Polystyrene foam (EPS) sphere, an engineered material chosen by professional mirror ball manufacturers for its lightweight strength and structural consistency. The closed-cell EPS construction stays rigid under stage heat, resists moisture absorption, and holds an accurate round profile through years of touring, hanging, and repeated reinstallation. The result is a perfectly balanced sphere that rotates evenly and casts uniform reflections in every direction.
The exterior is covered in precision-cut high-grade glass mirror tiles measuring 10mm (3/8"), each with a premium silvered backing that delivers maximum reflectivity, true color rendering, and crisp beam definition. The tiles are produced to consistent thickness with clean square edges, allowing tight uniform placement across the sphere and producing a continuous reflection surface free of dull spots. The mirror coating is sealed against tarnishing to hold its bright finish for years. Every tile is individually bonded with a premium high-strength industrial adhesive that holds firmly through motor rotation, road transport, and years of nightly use. ProX uses a denser tile pattern than traditional mirror balls, producing significantly more reflective surface area and a brighter, sharper field of light across walls and ceilings.
Internally, a steel center rod reinforces the ball along the full vertical axis, anchored by a heavy-duty removable O-ring at the top and another at the bottom, secured with an M10 nut for maximum mounting integrity. The MB-16 is compatible with both the ProX X-MBM-1 (3 RPM) and the ProX X-MBM-2 (1 RPM) mirror ball motors (sold separately), and works as a universal mirror ball with any standard rotator on the market.
